Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Between the Public Health Institute of Sudan (PHI) and the People’s Open Access Education Initiative of UK (Peoples-uni):

PHI and Peoples-uni on November 1, 2016 signed a Memorandum of Understating (MoU) on E-learning project.
This MOU is designed to allow the two organizations to work together to work together to develop and offer courses in Public Health online to assist in public health capacity building for Sudan and elsewhere.
Further organizational collaboration may evolve to include collaborative development of programs in education and research, program evaluation and bids for funding.
The Peoples-uni (peoples-uni.org), registered as a charitable trust in the UK, has been established to develop an educational program to build Public Health capacity in low–to middle-income countries (LMICs) via online learning.

 
Curriculum Development Workshop :

The Continuous Professional Development "CPD" unit of Public Health Institute organized two day workshop on "Curriculum Development" for PHI academic staff on 5-6 October 2016 other two day workshop on “Students’ Assessment” to follow next week; delivered by Dr. Tahra Al-Sadig Al-Mahdi, Director of Ahfad Educational Development Centre, Ahfad University for Women. The Curriculum Development and Students’ Assessment workshop is designed to assist PHI teaching staff in their quest for improving the teaching/learning environment in the institute. The workshop introduced the basic concepts of course design using the 5-steps approach and then focus on students’ assessment and how to improve current practice in this important area of their programs. Through interactive sessions and activities, participants are developed knowledge, skills and behaviors needed for evidence-based conduct of course deigns and students’ assessment.

 
Welcome LHSM Batch 2 :

On 29th of August 2016, we have welcomed the second batch of the Local Health System Management students. This program will start on September 25, 2016, and it’sone year program. Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be given Post Graduate Diploma of Local Health System Management, which is awarded by the Sudan Medical Specialization Board.
